Pinyin romanization, also spelled Pin-yin, also called Chinese Phonetic Alphabet, Chinese (Pinyin) Hanyu pinyin wenzi (“Chinese-language combining-sounds alphabet”), system of romanization for the Chinese written language based on the pronunciation of the Beijing dialect of Mandarin Chinese.
Pinyin without tone marks is used to spell Chinese names and words in languages written with the Latin alphabet and also in certain computer input methods to enter Chinese characters.
Mandarin refers to a whole language dialect and is the standard dialect for Chinese.
Pinyin is just the romanization of the pronunciation of Chinese.
There are 6 main finals in the table of finals: a, o, e, i, u, ü. Others are called compound finals. It`s said that the Final is the most important part in a pinyin syllable. We can`t compose a syllable without the final part.
